Anxiety

Do you experience sudden attacks of intense anxiety or fear during which you feel as if you are going to die, or lose control, or go crazy?

Do you worry about having other attacks of intense anxiety or fear?

Do you notice that you often experience low mood as a response to the feelings of anxiety?

Do you modify your behaviour to avoid certain situations which in the past have caused you anxiety?

Do you worry about the physical symptoms (increased heartbeat, breathlessness, shakiness, feeling sick, light-headedness etc) that the attacks of anxiety cause?

Do you use unhealthy coping strategies (such as alcohol, substances, gambling, sex, food) to manage symptoms of anxiety?

If you have answered YES to any of the above, then you may benefit from receiving intensive therapy from joining one of these UK programmes:

DAPAR Programme

The Depression, Anxiety, Panic Attacks Reduction (DAPAR) programme aims to support individuals to minimise anxiety and panic using an integrative approach. Treatment consists of exploring the underlying fears and limiting beliefs that keeps the anxiety in place. SMART Programme

The Substance Misuse and Anxiety Reduction Treatment (SMART) programme aim is to treat clients within a non-medical model with integrative therapy for both SUD and AUD with co-occurring anxiety. Treatment consists of exploring underlying fears and life experiences that perhaps keep addiction or dependency in place. Brain functions will be explored to educate and empower individuals to reduce or abstain from alcohol or substances.

Evidence from clients who have participated within the programmes have seen a reduction or abstinence in these conditions.

The programmes offer a weekend intensive therapy retreat drawing on modalities of Relational Therapy, Psychoeducation, CBT, ACT, Mindfulness, Outdoor & Nature Therapy. The programmes are held in small support groups where the individuals are matched to people who are going through similar experience. Alternatively, the programmes can be tailored to an individual who does not want to attend a group setting.
